Daily Mail:

As of 2020 of last year, China is already on track to start ranking their citizens and citizens behavior. By doing so, they will simply track what goods you purchase. If you buy certain Chinese goods, you automatically boost your credit and social standing. Now, if you break certain rules, for example, criticizing the government, you score will be knocked down. Just like the episode we watch on black mirror. If you criticize someone or something, people will automatically knock your ranking down. This article also states that if you are considered/top ranked, you will have access to the VIP treatment. This includes; VIP sections at the Airports, hotels and Top Universities. For people who commit fraud or purchase items at a store that is not approved by the government, your rank will be dropped. You will also not have access to high speed internet as well as not able to apply for the best jobs and schools. China has already started it's trial and will eventually move on to installing 600 million surveillances around the city to better enforce it. They already have geo-tracking, face/body scanning. Many see this as a way for the government to spy and control their 1.4 billion citizens.

Wired: "Social Ranking"

Side Note: America was the first to to enforce the 3 digit credit. Now China wants to take that idea and use it as a way to control their country.

In this article, this is from a personal experience that Liu encountered when he moved back to China. Back in 2015, Liu moved back to his home in China. He then noticed that they used their phones to pay for everything. They used apps such as Alipay and WeChat. Like the United Sates, China would use "Big Date" as a way to keep up with everyones credit score. Liu then decided to hop on board with the paying apps, as if he had a choice. Now he has to build up his credit in order to buy certain items. Back in 2013, Alipay received at least $70 billion in mobil payments. They would use that data to collect the credit score base on someones activities. Their country in Liu and many others words are "cashless". If your credit score is below average or of a lesser average, then that would be consider an embarrassment. When your score is low, you will have to pay more or put a down payment in order to use that item. A range between 600-900 will qualify you for better housing, loans etc. It is all about privilege and how your behavior is. If you break certain rules, your score/standing will be revoked.
